Borat and Saw

Haha. Watched with Yang and Shan yesterday night. It was ok.. Don't know why it's #1! I'm not really a fan of stuff that just makes fun of people. Reading up on Wikipedia who wants to sue him and stuff was funny though! :P

I'd suggested Saw III, but Yang didn't want to watch. To people who haven't watched the Saw series and say you "don't do horror", you really doin't know what you're missing. It's scary, granted, but not in the cheap "jump out with loud noise to shock you" scary. It's not even particularly gory. Someone told me that it was 'coz their budget was very low, so they couldn't make the gory parts, they just show the person's face and rely on the actor to convey the pain/panic/scared shitless feelings. But the storyline is superb. It's a stroke of genious. I'm a fan of Saw because of the underlying message, which is something like, "value your life". Jigsaw doesn't just kill people for fun. There's always a way out. It just depends on how far you will go. And the twists in the plot are excellent. I never saw the last one coming in a million years. It was absolutey brilliant. It will make you go, "!!!". If you haven't watched Saw already, please do. I guarentee it will be worth your time!

Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights

Just watched this today.. Dirty Dancing (the original) is one of my absolute favourite movie of all time. Isn't it every girls'? It's such a fairy tale love story.. *sigh* Anyways! I borrowed the Havana Nights DVD mainly to compare the two.. I didn't really expect anything much from it. But it turns out I loved it too! The songs are very catchy, and I just love dance movies anyway! Here are a couple of vids with my two favourite songs and scenes from the show. ^^

World of Warcrack

I really think my brain is trying to tell me something.. Everytime I try to type "Warcraft" without really consciously thinking about it (you know how you just let your fingers flow over the keyboard?) I type out "Warcrack". I think I'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms from not raiding for so many days 'coz of exams. Hrmmm..

Made a draenei shaman on Herb's BC beta account today.. I loooove the hairstyle with the cute bangs! Will definately be making one on the live servers when BC comes out too, but prolly won't have the time to level her. Pfft, I'll be happy just having her on the character list! I already reserved the name that I want.. ;)

The Breakfast Club

Just watched The Breakfast Club.. Such an iconic cult film.. :P Not to mention the title song is awesomeness! The whole story basically unfolds in the library of the school where five kids, each from a different clique, are serving detention. They are told to each write an essay on who they really are. Eventually, they start talking to each other start opening up and sharing secrets. Some of the scenes are very intense and emotional. But they are afraid that once detention is over, they will each go back to their different worlds. In the end, Brian hands up an essay for all of them..

Brian Johnson: Dear Mr. Vernon, we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. And what we did was wrong. But we think you're crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. What do you care? You see us as you want to see us... In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain...
Andrew Clark: ...and an athlete...
Allison Reynolds: ...and a basket case...
Claire Standish: ...a princess...
John Bender: ...and a criminal...
Brian Johnson: Does that answer your question?... Sincerely yours, the Breakfast Club.

Heroes

You've prolly already heard lots of raves about this show.. So I'll spare you since it's already more than halfway into the 1st season. :P For those in the dark, Heroes is a TV series about normal people discovering their special powers. It sounds like X-men, but it's really not.. (absolutely nothing against X-men!) It's a complicated story with many little parts all coming together - everything is linked!

Anyway, I just wanted to say Ali Larter is incredible as her character Nikki Sanders! Her roles in previous movies were sadly rather shallow, being mostly in teen movies such as Final Destination 1 and 2, and Legally Blonde. Her character in Heroes has a sort of split personality, and when she switches, you can really see the transition. And she is so sexy too! :D

Sims 2 Pets

It was almost a premonition.. Just last month I pointed out Sims Unleashed and commented, "Sims 2 needs pets!" And then the next time I stepped into EB Games.. There it was on the "Coming Soon" rack! I couldn't help squealing in delight. :P Herby got it for me when it came out and I've fallen in love with it since.

Gave all my sims pets! I even created a new family, just one girl and 3 dogs and 2 cats. She's supposed to be an animal lover, and her lifetime aspiration is to have 20 simultaneous pet best friends. It's really hard, nigh impossible, but not quite! The reason why it's hard is because unlike sim friends, you can't just call them up and invite them over. You have to invite their owners over, and ask them to bring their pets along. This means you need a fairly good relationship with the owner as well. The other way is to make friends with strays, but that's even harder 'coz you have to wait for them to come to your house and invite them in. Though they do tend to show up more often when you invite them in regularly. I wanted to breed the two cats, but it turns out that they just don't like each other! It must've been something to do with their personalities. One of them is very agressive, and the other is very independant. So I guess that didn't leave very much room to build a good relationship. :P
