To hell and back

T'was a dark and stormy night. A flash of lightning lit up the sky.. And the lights went out. Yup, the power got cut. No big deal, just flick the power switches and back in action. Or so we thought.

Turned out the lightning damaged the underground wiring. Result? Two days without power. Relive the Dark Ages! We'd just bought THREE large pizzas that day, and tucked them nicely into the fridge. Unfortunately, no power, no fridge. Bye bye, Meatosaurus, El Scorcho and Chicken Monaco. Along with a ton of frozen food (we're lazy :P) and my unopened carton of milk. Sigh. No lights. No computer. No stove. NO HOT WATER. Couldn't even take a nice steamy shower.

So after two days of hell.. They finally fixed it. Then.. The phone line decided to go kaput. Called the telephone company, got put on hold until the mobile phone ran out of cash. So I went down to their store and used the phone there. Finally got to talk to a REAL person after an hour of recorded messages and annoying music. Unfotunately, they couldn't send anyone over 'till Tuesday, so I told them to just cancel the line.

You'll never guess what happened next. Well.. Today the phone line is working again. So I think I'd better call them up to cancel the cancellation, hmm?

Could things get any worse? Maybe tomorrow our water will run out..
