The food fest continues..
Had another great day enjoying Singaporean food yesterday, this time with SunniGal as my eating companion! We used to be best friends waaay back when in primary school. It's amazing how long it has been! :P
The Park Lane wanton mee stall that we were heading for is actually nearer to Douby Ghaut MRT station, but we alighted at City Hall 'coz Sunni wanted to show me SMU's new campus. It's pretty high tech.. Their student cards work like EZ-Link and are used to access the uni proper. However, the underground concourse is open to the public, and houses some shops along the way. The wanton mee was superb! Definately one of my favourite wanton mee stalls. :)
We then went to Ice Monster for dessert and shared some mango slush thing, which was really very nice! Basically, it's chunks of mango on finely shaved ice, topped with a scoop of mango sherbet and smothered with mango puree. Yum!
Walked over to Bugis Junction.. One of my favourite shopping centres! There are a million things that I love to eat there, and I adore all the little shops selling all manner of cute things! Sunni wanted me to try some cheese stick thing, but at that point I was really really full already. :P So we walked around and took a look in a shop selling those cat calendars that I mentioned in my wishlist.. So cute! I want them all.. Hehehe!
Found a pair of nice but cheap sunglasses.. Another lady was eyeing them too, she kept asking to take a look, and even asked the storekeeper if there was another pair. I kept a firm grip on mine 'till I paid, 'coz it was the last piece besides the display pair! Bought two pairs of earrings too. Sunni tells me it's very common to see 2 for $2 earrings here in Singapore! I foresee my earring collection exploding.
I was tired after all that walking, so we sat down at Mos Burger for a drink and chatted away 'till she had to go for a meeting. I had a raid to attend too, so I went home first.. But after her meeting, Sunni came down to see the renovated place and say hi to my mom. I almost split myself into two trying to raid and entertain her at the same time.. So paiseh! The raid was on Chromaggus at the time, and I kept getting incinerated 'coz I wasn't really paying attention. :P But thankfully she was very understanding and gracefully said she wanted to catch the 9 o'clock show on TV. (If you're reading this Sunni.. THANK YOU! :D)
Went out for Jalan Kayu prata after the raid with Mark, Nick and Ban.. Adrian was supposed to join us too but he called in sick at the last minute. :P Sat around chit chatting until the wee hours.. Ended up going to bed at 5am! *yawn*
